Josh Pierce has been a published author since 1997, when his first book, RIDE GUIDE: New Jersey Mountain Biking was published by Anacus Press. He has just completed a third edition of that book that will be available Spring 2006.

He is a freelance writer and editor who has lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Wyoming, Wisconsin, and Lausanne, Switzerland. For the past five years he has made Portsmouth, New Hampshire his home.

He is a regular contributor of writing and photography for The Wire, an alternative weekly publication based in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History from Rutgers University.

In the summer, he can generally be found outdoors, riding a mountain, road or vintage bicycle, paddling a kayak, hiking or surfing. In the winter he skis and snowboards, in epic waist-deep untracked powder off-piste in the French Alps, frozen boilerplate in New England, and everything in between.
